I think they do some checking on the person and I know that for the most part many of them will wind up on either the no-fly list or the you-get-extra-attention list for the next couple of years.

This is correct. I am pretty sure the TSA, in the past, had a dismal record when it came to catching contraband. I know there have been TSA “tests” in which someone purposefully brought firearms through the security checkpoint. The TSA often failed, so maybe you’re right. They are finally getting better at finding…
I’m sure a few were, but I wonder how many were accidental because someone stored a firearm in a suitcase or carry-on bag and the actual traveler didn’t know or realize that?
Even more shocking, according to the TSA, “nearly 34 percent had a bullet in the chamber.”
Just get a small Honda generator. It will cost more but will last you a long time and you can run it forever (with gas supply) if the power goes out for more than a few hours.

Good point. Your refund or lack thereof isn’t what you paid or didn’t pay in taxes. You need to look at your tax return to see the total amount. We got a huge refund last year but that was due to some expenses we had in our business. Probably won’t get the same refund but I doubt our overall taxes went up…
I think it’s funny that so many liberals are complaining about higher taxes. They are the ones that want to spend your money like a drunken sailor and when their taxes go up, they bitch.
He’s crying crocodile tears....
No most of those have not gone away. And no government isn’t the only option. I simply disagree with these statements. And last time I checked we are no where near “large scale joblessness”. It’s becoming harder and harder to find the skilled workers you need so companies are training within. I know, I was in one of…
Your problem is you seem to think the Government is the only option. But that is not correct. I don’t know who does or doesn’t offer the old programs but I do know that most major corporations today, including the likes of McDonald’s have tuition reimbursement programs. There are also Work Colleges which put students…
What does it matter if it’s trade school or not? I know a number of people who went to Devry or other similar “trade” schools and they have good jobs in technology and many of them make over 6 figures. The military will give you all sorts of training that can translate into good jobs outside the military, you don’t…
I think that is a bit of an exaggeration and history has shown that with automation more jobs are created not less.
Maybe, although there are ways to get a paid education if you want. My daughter is serving in the Army National Guard. She got a full ride to a decent college.
Exactly. Sure low paying, dish washing, jobs might go away. But better paying maintenance jobs or programming jobs will result. Maybe not 1 for 1 but automation will help drive jobs, just not the low end crappy jobs.
It just means she has hot hands.
I agree and didn’t’ mean to imply anything else. Open discussion is good.
I think iOS and Android are pretty much on-par with each other now. There are still some app differences and that is sometimes a deciding factor in phone choice. But as you pointed out, there are differences between a $200 and a $750 phone regardless of OS.
On the phone front I’d say you’re right. On the tablet front I still think Apple has the best product and not that many real competitors. There’s nothing wrong with Andriod tablets, per se, but I personally prefer iPads.
Yes, but we know free wasn’t free. The issue is that even the “free” phones didn’t cost as much as the new iPhones. They are simply over-priced and it’s showing by the lack of sales. PS -I’m an iPhone owner too.
Amen to that last paragraph. I have a 6S+ and there’s no way I’m spending $1000 on an iPhone and certainly not going to spend $750 for the lower cost, but also lower spec phone than what I have.
