I definitely never said Brita was high drag. But it’s crazy that Brita having an attitude has been demonized the way it has... She’s a drag queen, not a debutante.

I enjoy the show BUT the problem with making drag queens mainstream is that the winners are selected to satisfy fans that don’t get the culture. And the fans terrorize queens that aren’t friendly enough, or feminine enough, or appealing to a white 12 year old girl enough.

According to Taylor, she and Scooter had a bad relationship in part due to this ongoing Kanye feud (which he and Beiber participated in), and then he ends up not only owning the rights to her music, but also attempted to bar her from performing her songs.

I do think Taylor was bullied by Kanye and Kim, and I’m happy she gets a bit of delayed vindication.

I honestly thought it was just me who felt this way... it’s so frustrating as a Black woman who has supported the root since the beginning, reading the odd pro Biden anti Bernie posts, and then having my comments about it disappear in the greys. It feels like the root doesn’t care about all of our opinions.

Thanks. I figured that out a bit too late. I do wonder though why people in general who seem like they’d be all about Nina’s messaging and politics, don’t defend her or ride for her or respect her. Even this article downplays who she is and what she was trying to communicate. I’d love to know why people don’t show…
