That’s mostly wrong. With trucks it’s only less safe if you hit a stationary and planted object which doesn’t react like a tree or barrier. If you hit any other vehicle with less mass than the truck, they’re taking more damage.

Things like that aren’t really worried about in any heavier sedan like my S-Class (unless it’s Optimus Prime barreling toward me)... because the other person will likely fare worse. The larger the vehicle you have, the larger the distance people make for you. Take the Model S for example; It’s like a rolling brick…
