When this thing is shown in the following week, I’m coming back to reply image after image of the ‘BUDD’ nameplate centered directly under the VW logo.

Whether you like it or not, the word ‘BUDD’ by itself is centered under the VW logo (or whatever else it is called). All I’m saying is there’s room for one more letter before ‘BUDD.’ They already used a suffix to make it ‘BUDD·e’ and that is off-centered, so the base diesel (or petrol) will probably just be named…
A diesel-hybrid makes a lot of sense too. Maybe the base BUDD can have a tiny 3-cylinder gasoline engine. I guess we’ll find out when the production version comes.
Oh no, did I offend you? I’m so sorry... not (accept that people aren’t always going to agree with you). I was trying to get you to take into account that the word ‘BUDD’ is likely centered. The ‘e’ could be a suffix. ‘BUDD’ might be used for a gasoline model.
Yeah, it could be for sure. I still think there has to be a base model simply called ‘BUDD.’ Maybe the base model will have a small turbocharged gasoline engine.
Yes, I mentioned in another comment that exact idea. It makes sense if they, for example, make a TDI version simply called ‘BUDD,’ and the electric version is named ‘BUDD·e.’ However, of it’s just going to be a standalone electric model, it doesn’t make too much sense.
Ha! I’m guessing math or simple trig wasn’t your strongsuit. Asshole.
I never implied there WERE rules. Re-read what I said. I edited it to make more sense to someone who clearly didn’t comprehend it the first time.
Yes, you’re correct. The model name must have 6 letters. The VW badge is above and between the supposed ‘U’ and ‘D.’
If you honestly think they would offset a model name by one letter like this for a single model name, when it is clearly intended to be centered, you haven’t spent too much time around automotive design. VW is also trying to revitalize their image, so they are going to start trying many new themes. The only way I…
It’s clearly not. I deal with angles all the time. The curvature of the rear and angle the photo was taken clearly shows the VW logo above the space between the supposed ‘U’ and first ‘D.’ Because of this, the model name should have 6 letters.
Don’t call me guy, pal!
It has to be a longer name than that if they spaced the letters out evenly. BUDD·e would be asymmetrical.
Tell me about it... The grass in my yard was already growing back.
Don’t forget about the amazing interior schematics. This is the R100. It’s not even considered a large model.
I’ve owned even a 500E, and I can tell you for certain I would choose a W220 (pre-facelift) interior any day over it. This is due to the fact that 220 development was ENTIRELY completed before Chrysler involvement in the company.
There was nothing THAT luxury about it. It had a plush interior on a truck platform basically, but the durability was less than the life of a Navigator. The Navigator had a plush air suspension, top leathers, superb build quality, and real tow capability (and a beast off road). I owned one for 11 years. It rode better…
I would start checking Armadas for some... stuff.
Only the cheaper vehicles they made had many issues. My W220 and others with the reliable engines/transmissions are fantastic.
It’s too bad you can’t even see out the windows when you drive one.
