Should have checked the tire pressure during dealer prep. Could have been off 1, maybe 2 psi from the factory...

This is not a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300D. This is an ‘85 or earlier W123. W124s came out beginning in 1986.

My Dad had a Volvo 740 back in the day, and I practically lusted after the 780. I think I was the only 8 year old kid who dreamed of owning one.

Ran When Parked.

I don’t think a comment said in the heat of the moment is headline-worthy three days after the event. Cooler heads have prevailed. This is old news and only contributes to trolling.

Not just corporate, but what about a salesperson at a VW dealer? You’ve been going through a rough patch trying to move Jettas and Passats. Then the new Golf comes in, and then there’s the promise of a new Tiguan and a competitive 3-row crossover coming soon. Things are looking up, right? Then BOOM — the diesel

I’m glad to hear Tom McParland is a part of Jalopnik’s future as well. I always enjoy reading his articles!

All of the Armen comments are spot on. I live in the area — their lot is huge and seems empty with only Cadillac there, and all of their cars have ARMEN vanity plates. ARMEN1, ARMEN2, etc... I’ve even seen a last-gen Saab 9-5 driving around with an Armen plate.

I had a car registered on a classic plate in PA (a W124 of course!) and it was great. No emissions inspection, no annual registration fees, and I could still drive it to work once a week and take it out on the weekends.

As someone who has flown both Jet Airways and Air India, I can verify that they seem a bit sketchy in the "dotting the i's and crossing the t's" department. And my co-workers thought I was just being silly when I demanded we fly on a western airline the last time we flew to India...

The two Dalton movies were the Bond movies of my youth. I'll always love watching them. Were they the best? No. But they weren't as overly comedic as the later Roger Moore movies, and they weren't as slick as the Brosnan movies. In my book, that makes the Dalton movies a winner.

Two words: Wheeler Dealers.

They made the HHR as recently as 2011?

I wouldn't be surprised if your car is recording lots of data locally, and that data is then extracted and sent back to the manufacturer when you visit the dealer for service. The dealer plugs your car into the diagnostic computer, and from there the computer could automatically transmit the data without any further
