You don’t know your history. Bruce Lee helped create the show, and they didn’t cast him because he was 100% Asian.

But why hire an actress with clearly no Asian influence at all for the role? To me, in this day in age, that’s not an excuse at all. Also, this is freakin’ Hawaii. How is this even possible? Heck, why write the role in that way then? Why not just make the role white if they wanted Emma Stone? None of these excuses…
Totally. The flip is true as well. So many Latin Americans are often cast as Arab. Boggles the mind.
ummm wut?
I see your perspective, but at the same time - being a Korean American - it’s still difficult for me to resolve. On top of that, roll in the fact that it’s one of my favorite films ever.
If you followed my comments on it further, you know that I question it. I’m just saying that I’m guilty of being a hypocrite. Yes, it’s hugely racist. Totally 100% agree.
Not Hollywood, but even my favorite show (tv or movie) of all time is guilty. Doctor Who:
I see your point, but at this juncture I’m just happy that the needle has wiggled.
Yup. One of the best examples.
Handful too many. See the history of “Kung Fu.”
Still, (and I”m a Rooney fan), it’s pretty goddamn awful.
I have to confess - as I’m a Korean-American. Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my all-time favorite films. I can totally understand though.
About time Hollywood started to get “paranoid” about this. How many roles in the history of Hollywood cinema have been whitewashed?
You know, I should know that and totally makes sense. In a way the same is true here in Georgia, Atlanta is totally blue, but everywhere else is very red. I’m just glad you Californias have it more under control than we do over here. I so wish we were more blue.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Wow. Just wow. Go back to 4chan, and cry to your little babies there.
Good lord.
I’m not saying it “hasn’t happened before,” I’m talking about YOUR claim that what happened to YOUR father is COMMON.
Again, 1 person. If what happened to your father was true for everyone? Then 1.) BB wouldn’t have become “world famous” for their keyboard 2.) a mass recall.
It’s still a sample of one. Thanks for playing.
