Services like Uber are bankrolled by billions, they can operate at loss for decades, they’ll outlive any “normal” competition.

It worse than that: Uber drivers are operating at a loss if you factor everything. It is ok if you need some cash right now, but all you’re doing is turning your “vehicle capital” in cash at a poor exchange rate.

You can’t compete because services like Uber are not sustainable in the long run. Once you factor everything in most cases a driver is losing money. It’s not immediately apparent but it becomes glaring when it’s time to throw big money like buying a new car.
