That really sucks having to deal with a co-worker like that, and even more when escalating it creates more problems. I wish I had a good answer to help with. Maybe try using intermediaries? It's not tue best idea though.

It is backlit, but I installed an IPS screen which is a wholesale replacement. They are a much better screen and easier to install than just a backlight. The original screen also had significant pixel bleed and was unusable
