I at least understood Breath of the Wild for going the route it did. The Zelda games have always acknowledged Link having some kind of input, and BotW had Link pantomime speech and characters responding as if he did speak. 

I agree with you except about Corpse Run. In DQ11, it comes across as everyone talking around and for you. It doesnt make sense and took me out of the flow of the story. They didnt even try to come up with a narrative reason for being silent.
