I think it’s the completely bizarre elements of the case. Like the ransom note, which was unlike any the FBI had ever seen before, or since, and the fact that she was a pageant girl and looks like a 25 year old showgirl in every photo we see of her.

This is why they keep covering it.

The first episode ended with the same “these are just theories, don’t sue!” screen. I only watched because the doc will be discussed on a podcast I listen to - in hindsight I should’ve ignored CBS’s 4 hours of speculation and skipped this week’s podcast.

Having watched this and read about all of the other facts through the years (a few good podcasts as well) I just don’t think the intruder angle works. Especially the ransom note. I think Patsy took it to her grave tbh. The murder seemed like a cover up and the scene itself was staged. Perhaps Burke did something and

RDJ was rumored to have been responsible for an anonymous blog(?) that was leaking bits about pedophiles in Hollywood.

Yup. Look how gladly they protected Johnny Depp “We didn’t see bruises, she was ok when we visited!”

Maybe that was one of his many abuses, as in that movie Haim would have been older that 11, I think? It’s really horrible, that poor kid.

Also James Garner is dead, so I think we can rule him out. The blind item makes it sound like this guy is still active in Hollywood.

In his memoir, Corey Feldman said Haim told him someone raped him on the set of Lucas. So I thought of Charlie Sheen (who is in that film), and then laughed because lmao at him being a family man. And then I thought: Martin Sheen...and I was like faaaaaark.

Haim actually lived with Downey after the movie for about a month and half. Downey would certainly be considered “A-List”.

My 5 minute search landed my guess on Robert Downey Jr. because he worked with Corey Haim on a movie and Corey Feldman said Haim was raped at 11 on a movie set, and they did a movie together around that time... And he’s the only truly A-list name I saw listed.

I did the same thing and I thought it could be Robert Downey Jr, but he would have been young then, around 18, so I don’t know.

I love celebrity gossip and I even like Radar despite their constant spelling errors but damn. I don’t want my celebrity gossip sites to be political and it sucks that they are so anti-Hillary on their site.Who paid them to promote those posts is probably a better question.

Perhaps “kingpin” is hinting at the movie of the same name, which would mean this is referring to Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, or Bill Murray.

OK, I did a 5 minute “investigation”... Corey Feldman said that “Haim was just 11 when... a man raped him on a movie set”. I checked when Corey Haim was 11, it would be 1983, so I checked which movie of his came out in 1984 and it was “Firstborn” and the A-List Actor that is in it is Robert Downey Jr. I don’t know if

Hmm. Everything I’ve read about Travolta (also gossip, mind you) makes mention of muscle-y-handsome, Greek God-type men. I always imagine that Travolta is deeply attracted to himself in “Staying Alive.”

Don’t they leave little nuggets as hints? So the Kingpin got me thinking bc it’s in quotes.

Running through his early movies on IMDB, the A-list stars I find are Robert Downey, Jr. and Kiefer Sutherland. There are others who are pretty famous (Gary Busey, James Garner) but probably not A-list. The only one I see that kind of meets the criteria is RDJ.

So once upon a time, there was a website named Gawker that liked to make concrete statements about people while attributing the info behind them to “anonymous sources...”

Poor Corey Haim.
