Costs rise, wages stay the same, saving becomes harder. It’s a pretty simple concept. 

Posts like these always bring out the “here’s how awesome I am at managing my money and knowing my means” people, and can I just stop you all right there and say, shut up? Good for you, I know you mean well and we could all learn from your example.

One thing I’ve noticed is how screwed you are if you get behind. You know how banks give you a 24 hour grace period if you’re overdrawn? Well if you file for bankruptcy you don’t get that privilege. It’s like that all over; all these rules that punish people for just being unlucky.
