Isn’t this article actually mocking the efficacy (or lack thereof) of a celeb’s hippie product line? Maybe with a little HA-HA thrown in for the parents obsessed with ‘natural’ products enough to trust a company primarily based on its name and self-reported mission statement?
BUT AT WHAT COST?!?!?!
Did I read a different article than you did? The one I read was making fun of the company and their shitty sunscreen.
Good on you, doing it right. I’ve had a couple of burns bad enough that I was prescribed painkillers and it makes me livid to see tourists with burned children because it's entirely preventable.
I know, right! I had my 15 year old nephew with us for a camping trip a couple of weeks ago, and I bought that kid a sunshirt, had a sun hat that made him look like Lawrence of Arabia because it flowed back over his neck, and slopped half a tube of sunblock on him too. The kid is one of the few in our family that is…
lol yes because standing one certain way is hard and only experienced models should even attempt it lest you fall and break something :P
6 years of Banana Boating for me and my kids, not one burn. Not even slightly pink. Toxins!
Yeah- I don’t know whether or not the sunscreen works, but it is important to note that most people don’t use NEARLY enough.
I can't believe the one mom who was like, well, my kid fried twice, let's see what happens the third time. I also burn after literally ten minutes and I wanted to snatch that toddler away. Poor baby!
OK, so I bought some Honest sunscreen a few years ago (when it was 20% zinc ozide) and it was the WORST. It was like trying to put beeswax on my body. I was thinking about trying the new formula, but I guess not.
And skin cancer is way preferable to autism, at least to these dinguses. As someone who is pretty much gonna get skin cancer if I so much as look outside for too long (dark hair + very pale skin combo, yay for being paler than the palest shade of foundations grr) I am a bit obsessive with suntan lotion. Mmm factor 50…
Get out of here with your heathen “science”!
Give me all the chemicals! I don't want to burn.
It’s tough to say whether that actually made the sunscreen less effective.
I’ve never crusaded on twitter about anything, but I can understand the desire to. If this product is that bad, it’s going to injure people. I can just imagine buying this, going out in the boat for the day, and then coming home with an increased cancer risk. It would make me want to shout about it to everyone who…
The white means it’s working, dummies! I’m a swimmer, and I use a physical sunblock with titanium dioxide/zinc oxide on my face and shoulders because it’s the only thing that prevents me from burning when I’m swimming for an hour+. With those sunscreens, you don’t want to use so little or rub it in so much that you…
It’s almost like the active ingredients actively do something! It’s almost like Banana Boat isn’t trying to poison your children.
