Not sure that could work. If the tuner deposited the check into his own account, it would just go back into the same account. In any case, a cashiers check normally requires an immediate debit because it is the bank issuing the check from its own account. At least that’s how it’s always worked at my bank.

I think what they meant is the bank reversed the deposit, taking the money out of his account. No way the check directed the money be taken out of his account if he deposited it into same account.

Any of these SUVs with the word “sport” in them (i.e. Outlander Sport, Rogue Sport) - they’re not sportier, just smaller

Honestly, is anyone surprised that VW’s chargers are as reliable as its vehicles?

Pennsylvania requires chains “on board” for trucks in certain conditions

Direct injection probably means you will have an expensive engine repair at some point due to carbon buildup, unless you commit to walnut shell blasting the valves every few years

Was thinking more the smaller Highlander (given the overlap between the TX and the Grand Highlander).  Was thinking that might reach $65k at most (assuming a $10k premium over the regular hybrid).  Still almost $20k below the Lexus.

Would love a PHEV Highlander.  That price tag is too steep for most, especially if they’re after the efficiency and are willing to sacrifice some creature comforts.

The biggest pain for us is changing our password. Between Office, e-mail accounts, and our password vault, it’s about 8-10 authentication prompts. And our passwords are only good for a few months

Teams for CarPlay only seems to work with the calling function and not the texting function. You used to be able to hear messages that were sent but could not reply. Now even that function is gone. Point is the Teams integration currently isn’t that useful, and the only distraction will be wondering what is going on

2nd gear: it has to be hybridization that is key. If you get regular ICE drivers to switch to hybrids, you cut emissions while some of the “kinks” of EV ownership (charging infrastructure, range, cost) are ironed out.

How many of these were used by rideshare drivers with that kind of mileage?  I’d be wary of those.

They are definitely pulling out of auto shows. For the first time I can remember, Camp Jeep won’t be at the Philly Auto Show this month. In fact, I don’t think Jeep will be there at all (along with half the other brands that used to participate pre-pandemic).

How about the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?  It hasn’t been redesigned in well over a decade and there is nothing “sport” about it - just a very cheap, unrefined vehicle

Especially with Toyotas - that will be the sure sign of a slowing market

Probably wanted the cash

Toyota dealers have always been the sore spot of the brand.  There are dealers who seem to not play games but you have to find them.  Thankfully, there are Facebook groups that are helping find cars without markups.

As tragic and scary as this was, it could have been so much worse. Right before the bridge is a wide and very busy intersection with a lot of vehicle traffic (and, during peak tourist season, a lot of pedestrians going between parking lots, hotels, and restaurants just outside the state park for the Falls. That road

Depending on the seller’s insurance deductible (assuming he had comprehensive, but maybe not if the truck was that price), it might have been worth fixing for the buyer and not cutting the price.  The buyer certainly can’t file the claim.

It’s one thing if such a system is overzealous (especially if it penalizes drivers for legitimate emergencies) or inaccurate, but I have seen more than a few of these gig drivers (whether it be Uber, DoorDash, or these package delivery services) portraying poor driving habits, whether it is the result of distraction,
