This guy is lucky he wasn’t killed. Security at these plants means business, right down to military rifles

I’m guessing it’s also because so few cars qualify that it’s not being promoted a lot by manufacturers.

I so badly want a PHEV for my next SUV and this would check all the boxes, except for the price. Hoping the supply issues are addressed so Toyota can offer more affordable priced “Prime” options in its namesake vehicles

The fun one is the toll transponder situation. In many cases, the license plate is registered with a transponder agency (if you have your own transponder from the same agency and try to register it to you, you’re SOL). If the transponder doesn’t read, not only do you get hit with the admin fee but also the highest

There are some active Highlander allocation lists on Reddit that indicate if a vehicle is pre-sold.

Ask Toyota buyers whether they think the market is deflating.  ADMs seem to be the norm at a lot of dealers because there is still barely any inventory in many areas, especially for hybrids.

One of my credit cards has an annual credit towards Avis rentals but after reading this and complaints about no cars or safety defects at locations I plan to rent this year, I’m not sure I’m using it. Someone told me to try Alamo for one rental.

I don’t think PHL has that rule. Things do seem more expensive than a similar non-airport location.  I know Pittsburgh’s airport is famous for matching off-airport prices.

I think there needs to be clarification that an eCVT found on many hybrids (such as Toyota and Honda) is an entirely different beast than a conventional CVT with an ICE engine. The Toyota ones have been shown to be quite reliable.

The problem is what you can buy is often a vehicle few want for good reason.  They’re either unrefined, poorly designed, or unreliable

Can’t believe CR recommends the Rogue given Nissan’s CVT reliability issues (unless they have been miraculously resolved recently).

Waiting for a Highlander Prime and hoping new battery plants will help make it happen

The Escape is so uncompetitive versus Honda/Toyota/Hyundai, but they do have a PHEV model.  Surprised they’re dumping that.

Yikes - even Apple Pay doesn’t hide you despite using a different “account number” than the physical card

The access for concerts/stadiums is free

It did save me time at O’Hare but time savings were otherwise minimal. Supposedly Orlando has some of the biggest benefit.

CLEAR relies on the AMEX credits they give to cardholders in order to keep customers.  Without it, they’d lose a ton of customers.  Even with the credit, I dropped our family’s when the frequent flyer discounts were cut and the price for additional family members was increased.  I also had issues changing my wife’s

When Mazda’s PHEV tops out $10k less (albeit without some of the Lexus features) with more space, it might a harder sell.  On another note, it makes me wonder how much the new three-row TX PHEV will cost if this one is $70k.  Toyota really needs a 3-row PHEV in its namesake brand.

I’m paying $395 monthly for a loaded 2020 RAV4 Hybrid I bought in the early months of the pandemic. Got $3,000 below sticker and 0% financing for 60 months.

Waiting for the CX-70. Will be the same size but without the third row. Do wish the cargo space rivaled the Highlander, but the silver lining is Mazda’s move into PHEV SUVs might force the introduction of a Highlander PHEV using the RAV4 Prime powertrain
