Agreed. S1 was a tonal disaster with what was (to me) a complete flop of a finale, but I liked it well enough. I though S2 was a marked improvement, that was mostly hampered by some wheel spinning in the middle - which wasn’t *bad*, it just *was*. It had a great premiere and terrific finale.

You really only notice the one because, I believe, it’s the Oprah episode.  I think the other was one of the live episodes.  Overall it doesn’t really affect much story wise.

I’m just curious did you miss the removed episodes? Like were you ever like “wait, what” because they’d removed the previous episode entirely instead of just the offending scenes?

I’m currently wrapping up another rewatch and if you watch the pilot while it was still funny it seems like they genuinely tried to be somewhat more grounded. But then somewhere during the first or second season they decided to go 100% wacky and just lean into the jokes over anything else.

30 Rock was an amazing show.

With the game show boom on TV right now, I hope we see a few revivals

The show had some quality fake movies and television shows. But nothing trumps Seinfeld’s fake movie.
