I am somewhat confused as to how you can state with such confidence that the collective pool of journalists who reported this issue are ‘cis-journalists.’ Does NPR, CNN at al. include this data in their reporters’ biographies? Because an awful lot of journalists in these outlets are LGBTQA, thank you very much.

The press should know by now that Trump admin policies are incoherent nothing burgers. They are designed to “hate signal” to his base who will crow about the headline while missing the substance. The panic is the “owning the libs” moment they live for.

I think you’re being a little harsh on this guy. He accomplished something pretty difficult to do at this stage of the protest; he made this about himself. That’s got to count for something.
