"Catch up" isn't particularly accurate - PCs are vastly more powerful than consoles already, considering that consoles are commodity hardware from 5+ years ago at this point.

Technically, they'll be bringing in less money per year - four releases at $9.99 apiece versus 12 at $5.99. If they're consolidating content that otherwise would have been spread out between 2-3 issues, then it's really a cheaper way for the reader to get it (short of for free on the internet I mean).

Prerendered cutscenes should only be used when games aren't capable of acceptably rendering what they need to show. Doubly so if there's no reason that it should.

If nothing else, as it plays CDs and DVDs, they could be used for track/chapter selection.

He's also the lead in Castle, which is a bit more of a subdued role. Still snarky...but so are most characters in shows like that.

Having read it, I'm more of the opposite opinion - you could spin almost any genre of game from the series (some more appropriately than others of course).

I haven't tried them in Zelda games, but I haven't bought SMB Wii or DKC Returns due to using waggle for moves. Tried a friend's copy of SMB Wii and found them far too annoying. A button press is a far more discrete, determined action. Had too many times where I did a spin jump when I didn't want to, or didn't when I

773 hours would barely edge him into casual territory for most MMOs.

It seems more to me like Metacritic is encouraging critics to actually know their shit (so to speak).

"Every time I meet a man he's either gay or a bear"

But, mushroom to bear costume isn't right either D:<

They've apparently had trouble getting XIV to work on the PS3, so the Vita is probably right out.

HDCP already requires HDMI (or similar, like Displayport or certified DVI) for HD video - at least, Blu-ray requires HDMI for 1080p on the PS3 (it's even in the small text on the bottom of that Sony page).

FFXI has a Mentor system. Once you reach a certain level/hours played, you can turn on a Mentor flag that puts a special icon next to your name. The game also has the ability to search the area/server for mentors for you to ask questions to.

Nah. Like the article says, it's used to curb used sales. If it were Sony selling the disc twice, then it wouldn't be an issue, since they'd already be getting money for both sales. The reason they're doing this is because they aren't.

Some of the titles (at least) seem to have had their prices raised for this promotion as well.

It wasn't just SFIII.

The over-the-top nature of Bayonetta isn't really my thing...but it works in context of the game.

Regarding PC gaming versus consoles and all - it's not so much the "we deserve better because of cost" argument - more that we want to see the platform be fully utilized.

It's a lot more common to underestimate the damage used sales of still-produced titles than it is piracy.
