Denuvo anti-tamper DRM by design has to run some aspect of the core game loop inside what is effectively a custom instruction set encrypted VM module (VMs always have an overhead especially if your emulating a non x86/x64 processor). Then they use typical anti-debugging and reverse engineering techniques to try and

Makes the whole we want it to be realistic bit not make any sense. Why not just have a separate camera for the viewpoint like every other FPS. Stable chicken heads is going to look completely unrealistic.

Now playing

It boggles the mind that they bother to do so much work for what amounts to what will just be a detached camera/aiming model as the external body would look extremely odd if the head was actually stabilised like a birds head as a real bird head would do but no normal human head would do this.

Why would someone want to pirate a game that isn’t good. Maybe because they were never going to buy it and want to see if it is as bad as they say it is. Maybe people crack games because they can, almost all games are cracked bad and good. Good games get pirated a lot because they are popular this doesn’t make them

You know how JC2 had a multiplayer mod and how JC3 will never have one. Do you know why?

JC 3 is a buggy mess, Doom is doomed to have no longivity as the original Doom supported deep modding well past its commercial life, Total War: Warhammer isn’t very good, and Rise of the Tomb Raider is also buggy. I tested all the games by buying them, benching them, reverse engineering them, and then refunding the

Witcher 3 was highly pirated and an extremely commercial success. If you make a good game people will buy it. (Piracy != lost sale)

Anti-tamper DRM is the worst kind of DRM since it prevents any deep modification of the game for any purpose even if it doesn’t touch the DRM as it is designed to prevent reverse engineering and exe patching both of which are critical for community patches, deep mods, and compatibility patches in the far future.

Cracking the anti-tamper DRM is much more important to for deep modding and game preservation as this type of DRM completely forbids exe patching as that is the exact way cracks work and is also the same way almost all community patches and deep modding works.

He doesn’t kill humans so he wouldn’t punch him out of existence just knock him out no matter what.

It is just the irony of the internet and the cloud. More data is probably being lost forever than ever before. Online only games if never cracked and leaked could literally cease to exist forever.

Or steals both and hard shuts down the phone to stop you from tracking it then ships it overseas for parts.

True Nintendo seems to be so good at bad networking it is contagious.

It is entirely possible and very likely that Ingress was intentionally left as a alpha test for Pokemon Go. That way they can test the platform, build their maps, test basic features. They probably stopped developing Ingress and switched to Pokemon Go long ago. Given how much money they are earning and how much it

Funny how a Google offshoot somehow forgot that whole thing about cloud scaling.

Given how they have shot to the top of the app store rankings for both revenue (paid users tend to stick around longer) and downloads (new users spike was insanely fast) I’m pretty sure even if they fall off a cliff in the coming weeks they are going to settle into being a pretty big stable population.

It does and has repeatedly. Pre-ordering allow game publishers to use marketing alone to drive sales and even keep reviews behind release embargo dates to prevent anyone from learning how good/bad a game is prerelease. A F2P game everyone knows has in-app purchases and all that and they can play it to see if it is any

Quality is like a credit rating (Aaa is the highest in credit standards as well) it can change for the worse or better depending on the actions of the developer and how the community reacts overall. A game can start with Aaa quality drop to D quality if they have terrible launch/support/DLC practices and then increase

You do understand a sunk cost vs. total budget are two different things. Just because 2K didn’t put all the money in doesn’t mean it didn’t have a large budget originally. If anything the fire sale transition probably added to the overall total budget due to the overhead such transactions have.

Logically speaking yes AAA budget says nothing about being AAA quality.
