When I read the story early this morning , I thought to myself “Ahmed, hold on. Things are going to be better for you in a few hours.”

Obviously, I meant it at a sort of superficial level; opening up doors for Ahmed (who is clearly gifted person by being invited to NASA or Google, interested Colleges perhaps etc).…

It made me really sad to read that he said he’d never bring another project to school.

And also, from what I could see, it was obvious there were no explosives there. What the ever living fuck was it supposed to do? Beep them all to death?

ya i get he might get to visit google, but to anyone who has ever experienced islamaphobia/racial profiling/or offended others with their brown skin, this is another reminder that you’re unwanted. for kids like Ahmed especially, the damage won’t be undone by Obama’s tweet

I have a son applying to colleges right now so my mindset went there as well. As sick and disgusting as this situation is, I could not help but think about the national exposure he is getting and all the universities who now know who he is. I hope wonderful opportunities come his way.

I really believe that they just wanted to be mean, but maybe that’s giving them too much credit because I also believe that they’re dumb enough to have thought that it could be a bomb.

This makes ZERO sense. If they really thought it was a bomb, why didn’t they evacuate the school? That’s the only reaction appropriate for a real bomb threat. It sounds like they just wanted to teach the brown kid a lesson. I’m so glad so many people are reaching out to support him, because his school sure as hell…
