Trump got incredibly lucky in a few key states: PA, WI, MI swung his way by an average of .05%.  He’s less popular today than he was in 2016.  AND he won’t benefit from the misogyny vote.  Add in all shit show that is 2020... his chances of skating to another term don’t look great.  Hence the hyper focus on hobbling…

Trump’s biggest fear is that he’s losing White voters in droves... seniors, blue collar workers, suburbanites, college educated, Latinx. You name it. Given that his 2016 ‘victory’ was based on a sliver of votes in a few states, Trump is in rough shape for 2020.

Yeah, whatever your misgivings about Biden, I doubt he’s gonna tell us to ‘suck it up’ as tens of thousands of Americans die from a preventable cause like COVID 19.  I also believe he’ll have advisors who know what the hell they are doing and aren’t ONLY interested in a) White supremacy b) self-enrichment.

I hear you but police have little incentive to de escalate these situations. In some cases they are the cause of the escalation. When you hire racist cops to police Black/Brown communities and then do little to hold cops responsible for hyperaggressive behavior.... this is the result.

The reality is, they still know they are unlikely to be held accountable in most circumstances.  MIGHT be fired.  If fired have a very good chance of suing and winning reinstatement with back pay.  Even the dismissal sticks, they can still go 5 miles away and be hired by another police force.  

Frankly this is exactly what a lot of people said during the astroturf protest by Trump supporters.  Somehow not one officer was afraid of heavily armed White people screaming actual threats in their faces or marching around with weapons.  But an unarmed couple at standing observing officers at the scene of a crime…
