Yeah I kind of can't believe anyone point-blank asked the internet that.

sooo great! I hope the DVD has the compilation of just all the different songs in a row. That used to be on utube, but they took it down.

I find it really annoying. I always thought it was set in socal, if not L.A. I live in Colorado and it's G.D. freezing/snowing all the time, plus there's nowhere a community college could exist within Denver that wasn't in a pretty dangerous, crowded cityscape. If it were in Pueblo or Colo Springs it would be a miasma

That was insane! I keep trying to figure out what she says leading up to it.

Writing from the future, but I was surprised no avclubbers commented on Nancy's skinny-dipping being more or less a retelling of Bathsheba's story. I mean, the guy IS named David. She's bathing in his courtyard where he lustily spies her. I know they overtly state that it's a reference to Jewish traditions of ritual

Man, people are pumping this McKinnon girl! Hulu's got a clip of her today labeled, "The birth of an SNL star".  I mean, I think she's done alright so far, but they're gonna snuff out her fire trying to cram her down everyone's throat.  Granted, she has some awesome impressions so far—Ellen was beyond good.  But the

Aw, no I didn't mean it that strongly.  I'm just a Spanish language nerd. I love BB, and Esposito is an awesome actor—awesome casting for an awesome character. I did notice they dial it back on his Spanish scenes after he hits the other cartel boss in S3. It's just that it IS such an incredible show with sky-high

yeeeah, I saw that he worked with a coach and everything. I'm sure they want you to think his speaking style is just similar in both languages because he's so fastidious. But if you have any ear for native spanish, it's obvious within like three words. Especially when he's sitting next to the guy who does

I know this thread is old, but I'm netflixing years later. I was just wondering about the psuedo-spanish speakers in this series.  Is Giancarlo Esposito suddenly using a Spanish-accent when speaking English in this episode? I hadn't noticed it before if he was speaking that way, but in the dinner scene with Walt he

Just finished 1st and 2nd seasons in a few days.  This show is gut-wrenching! I could hardly stand to watch some parts, but it's so good. Can't imagine how this premise has been stretched over so many seasons, but I hear it continues to amaze. Can't wait to watch.
Also I used to clean Donna Bowman's office when I was a

Keith Phipps: "So many A.V. Club writers grew up Southern Baptist. Strange. But count me among them."
That's hilarious.  I wonder what the common thread is of so many media-rats being from that background.  Life at home is too boring and stifling and the radio/tv/pop-culture is your excape to the outside world?

1)  Food-service industry is a total tax-scam.  It's basically a fleet of unpaid labor for the owners, and a cash-under-the-table for the workers.  Most people are stuck in it due to being marginalized for lack of education, some strike on their record,  something fucked-up happened in their life (it's the only true

I know! That thing about his son being wimpy "so he doesn't have to worry about it" was cruel.

Horrible Bosses was SO fucking bad! Why did they seem to like it on here?  I felt embarrassed watching it for the actors.
