This is the kind of underrated comment we’ll only appreciate years from now.

The “critical reevaluation” of old stuff seems to have become a staple schtick of modern pop culture journalism and is never as compelling as the author thinks.

I am intensely curious what it is you thought this would be about and how long it took you to realize it wasn’t. And then why you felt the need to comment on it.

Being a closeted gay kid pining after your straight best friend (whose girlfriend has been your adopted sister for a while) is rough. Being that in the 80s when being gay is even more stigmatized is even worse.

“Nocoiner?” So you gullible marks have actually come up with a slur for people who don’t buy into your stupidity?

Try not to make any legacy sequels on the way to the parking lot . . . hey get back here!

In a row?!

They really are, with a few exceptions, stunningly meek. Especially the old guard, who seem to still toil under the assumption that the majority of Republican lawmakers will be reasonable and compromise, despite well over a decade of evidence that the party was getting more and more extreme and willing to do anything

The fuck?

I mean just....well played, well played.

Not to be the Capital Police or anything, but this article uses both “Capitol police” and “Capitol Police” when it should really pick one and stick with it.

No, the only reason people even bring up weekly releases is because they’ve been trained to get that from networks from years past.

“Are people spending an entire week talking about one episode of tv? You just watching that one show and feel the need to discuss it constantly?”

“And what even is this “generate more discussions and theories” nonsense? Are people spending an entire week talking about one episode of tv? You just watching that one show and feel the need to discuss it constantly? How do you discuss Monday’s show if you need a week to talk about Sunday’s?”

Yep. It’s fun for lots and lots of people to discuss shows with people while waiting for the next. It’s cool that you prefer to binge. But people enjoying the wait seems to really upset you, though, so that’s funny at least

Then wait until they’re all released.

This isn’t a real suggestion, but it’s the inverse of people telling me, a binge-hater, that I don’t have to binge it.

Don’t agree on Stranger Things personally - it’s their most-hyped show and investing in it to allow it to stick its ending and leave open the possibility to expand its universe makes a lot more sense than some of Netflix’s other deals. I quite oppositely wish they had 8-10 shows like Stranger Things with mega-budgets

I think the thing you aren’t really factoring in is that Netflix already has a problem of their service not being seen as good value. They increased their prices several times while losing licensed content to competitors and cancelling shows. They’re at the top of the market in terms of price already and trying to
