A friendly reminder: In the early 90s there were honest to God Senate hearings about how video games need to be regulated led by Democrats. Interesting spin here but they’re not wrong. Loot Boxes in video games are no different than baseball cards or Hatchimals. You get a box not knowing what’s in it until you open it. Going to be interesting to see if those industries start getting lumped into these “anti-loot” box bills in congress that’ll never pass.

Thing is, though, it’s not gambling. If loot boxes were gambling, then so are CCGs, like magic the gathering, that have been around for decades with no one complaining about them. Is the FTC gonna start regulating those too?

Or get an Xbox One, it has backwards compatible with most games including the dead space games and dante’s inferno.

Thought the exact same thing, almost pulled the trigger.  I’m that person who somehow magically causes sales and freebies by buying it early (IE I pay the high price and a week later it goes cheaper), so this time it actually worked out in our favor!  Woot!
