I’ve never thought of that. My issue had always been that legacy issue. 100 meter dash will always be the same. You can compare records of previous athletes for all time. But video games get sequels, patches, etc that the olympics would lose that legacy. Depending on the game you can’t compare year to year records.

I’m pretty sure it’s easier to get a smash box controller than the correct defective GameCube controller. Some pros use defective GC controllers to do mechanics that are not achievable with a standard GC controller. I’m sure you know more about that than I do. I’ve only read one article about it.
