I see the tornado as the consequence, not of Max’s time travel, but specifically for bringing Chloe back. All of the natural phenomenon are warnings against saving Chloe. The natural order of things has her dying and Max continually defies this.

I can see how you could react to the final chapter. My reaction was a bit different(except for the stealth segment which I also thought didn’t fit).
