I’d love for us to get the clean estate version they sell in Europe, but then it can’t be marketed as a “crossover” to fool the soccer moms. You can thank Volvo for that.
Not one Jalop here is complaining about the lack of a manual option. I’m highly disappointed.
To paraphrase Wayne’s World:
Which will come out first? This or the Elio?
The Ford wins, even with the Vtec kicking in, yo?
What’s the third pedal for? I don’t see a shifter...
Elio is very good at promoting itself and that’s about it. The best case I see for this company is a Duke Nukem Forever-type scenario: years of hype only to produce a failure. At this point, though, it’s eight years of vaporware.
I spoke with a GM engineer who was test driving one and he says the mileage depends mostly on weather. He claims that when its very cold or very hot (we get both extremes here in the Mitten) that, understandably, the mileage diminishes. Keeping the car (and battery) warm or cool takes a lot of juice and he says on…
The only station wagon Jalops wouldn’t sell their mothers for. CP all day.
Starred, un-starred, and starred again just so I could give you two.
Is that hood scoop functional?
I’m not mad at this. What self-respecting enthusiast would purchase one of these without a LSD? Why would Ford have even given the option?
The Corvette speedster conversion.
I wonder if it might be easier to stick a huffer on the motor that’s in it and do some tuning. I push that car hard enough to scare my GF as it sits; if I had another 100hp or so, I think she’d never go anywhere with me or make me take the Volvo.
I have an AWD CTS wagon. Even though it’s a V6, it’s still a hoot to drive and looks soooo gorgeous.
Beat me to it.
Essentially, we’re going to be driving life-size RC cars.
Batteries will be the car’s RAM, then.
