I’ll definitely keep an eye on it. If any news on the game shows up, I’ll talk about it.

You’re welcome! I’m glad some people are reading these, at least. Video game news sites and blogs seem to rarely cover ongoing rhythm game news, so I wanted to fill that void here.

Some people think it’s crazy that I still listen to boy bands from the 90s. It’s not my fault that Backstreet Boys are just so damn fun to listen to! Read more

It’s easy to make comparisons like this, but there’s a very big difference between games from 1991 and games from 2015. Read more

Not defending this at all, but several things make me think that it was just some poor judgment calls by a few Harmonix people. Read more

This is a huge reason why I’m skeptical about getting the game. The servers WILL go down someday. Once this happens, the advertised hundreds of songs will shrink down to 44. Depending on how well the game does will decide if it’s sooner rather than later. Read more

A little warning if you’re gonna be streaming it, I’ve seen reports that streaming using PS4’s services mutes the game’s music, rendering streaming on PS4 virtually useless. Xbone seems to be just fine, though.

For Guitar Hero Live, you will indeed have to have two copies to be able to play local multiplayer, since you can only buy the guitar bundled with the game. For Rock Band 4, if you have any old instruments that are compatible, you can still use those. If not, you can always buy them second-hand at thrift stores, used Read more

You would be correct, the dongles are still needed to play PS3 instruments on PS4. Forgot to mention that, will update the OP.

For what it’s worth, Foster the People is also available on Rock Band as DLC with a three pack of “Pumped Up Kicks”, “Don’t Stop (Colour on the Walls)”, and “Helena Beats”.

Yes, with a few exceptions (some songs can no longer be purchased), all previous DLC will be available for Rock Band 4.

I think you maybe read it wrong, as it only says that most wired microphones will work in RB4. No other wired controllers will work on the Xbone, adapter or not. Here’s a more complete chart from MadCatz, and I’ll go and update the OP with it.

Harmonix haven’t stated anything official about the ION drumkits. Some people did get the game early through a promotion, though, and over at NeoGAF they’re saying that the IONs do work on PS4 but not on Xbone.

I’m new here, still trying to figure out how TAY works. I had posted an article earlier today, had been writing it for a few days, but it doesn’t seem to have appeared on TAY. If someone could please tell me how this works, that would be great.

My first post on TAY. I really just wanted to get this discussion out there, as both of these games appear to be overlooked, especially considering what Activision’s doing with Guitar Hero Live.

I can deal with the music, the content of the video is too interesting to let some bad tunes ruin it for me. Read more
