Counterpoint: there’s never been a worse time to engage in activities with high risk of injury requiring medical attention. The hospitals are already overwhelmed, don’t do unnecessary things that might add to that workload.

Meh. I drove mine from Boston to New Orleans in February. Range is plenty for long trips, supercharging to 80% every couple hundred miles doesn't take any longer than the food/bathroom/stretch stop I'd be making regardless, so really the only time it slowed me down was the last night coming home where I had to spend…
*Northern* New England... RI... 🤔
Why are all the comments on this new article leftover from last year? Are things so tough over there you can’t have a new article slot for each year’s prime day?

Dayum! I’ve got 6 bikes on my policy right now and I’m still under $1k/year here in MA. Is insurance really that insane in CA across the board, or is your driving record just a nightmare to insurers?
Now, which one of my employees are you?...
Knowledge is one of those supplies...
No, many come with regular tires and a tire kit that’s nothing more than a really shitty 12V air pump with a can of fix-a-flat.
Home coffee can be much better than Starbucks. It can also be much, much worse. There are way too many factors for any general answer to apply.
You keep saying “people who love money”, then describing workaholics who are obsessed with money to the exclusion of everything else. Obsession is not love.
I hear you. I only took the plunge when my previous daily driver became too maintenance-intensive to keep in that role, and the used Leaf was dirt cheap. I do have a gasoline car as well, and several motorcycles, which neatly avoids the “long trip” issue in my case.
They are EV Parking Only. Locals have been surprisingly good about not parking ICE cars there. I’m told, but haven’t had to do it, that the city is pretty good about removing cars parked illegally in those spots if you call.
There are four for cars sold in the US. Tesla has their proprietary connector. Everyone else uses SAE J1772 for level 1 and 2 charging, and either SAE CCS or CHAdeMO for level 3 DC charging.
Boston does have charging stations on the street, and you can use them overnight. The connector locks to the inlet on the car, so no concerns of someone unplugging before you’re done charging.
I bought a used Leaf (cheap!) last month to be my daily driver in Boston, and so far have exclusively used the existing public charging infrastructure without any issues. Typical weekday is around 30 miles of mostly heavy traffic.
It does have an effect, but it’s pretty minimal compared to the draw of the traction motor. “idling” for an hour in my leaf with the ac running costs less than 4 miles of range.
Nope. That’s just teaching the child that screaming and making a scene gets them special treatment. Don’t reward behaviours you don’t want to encourage.
“The morning queue at your local Starbucks is much lower stakes, and so you’re less likely to face blowback.”
