I turn off damage numbers in almost every game that gives me the option. The Division, Nioh, and when I get to it, this. Health bars do the trick, and I so rarely actually read the numbers that it feels like a visual effect that doesn’t fit in the game world. It also ruins the immersion for me more than health bars

I personally like DoF in most cases. I like the cinematic feel, and I appreciate when the effect is handled well. But I studied animation in college, and that effect was hugely taxing to render back in ‘06, so I’m impressed that it can be dine at all in real time. For the same reason, ray-tracing blows my mind.

Worse than that, they are almost exclusively bad designs. I might pay 20 to design my own, but maybe I’ll just print some nice vinyl stickers and cover the base tier tag.

OK, yes, I misworded a bit. The meaning I intended was that it’s shameful that they are trying to sell this half-assed remake in the wake of those other games. Aside from FF7r, the other two didn’t change the animations from the original game, or really the design style or atmosphere (although those are more up for

It’s a damn shame they are calling this a ‘remake’ after we’ve seen Demon’s Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, and FF7r. Like, fuck this thing.

I wasn’t going to play it at launch, but then the only PS5 I could acquire was sold through Gamefly and included a 9 month subscription, so now I can play it without buying it, which helps me feel like I’m not participating in the charged conversation around crunch and development practices and what I’ll shorten to

Step Two: Completely ignore the news feed like you did on the PS4.

I have a Switch copy of BotW before I had the Switch, but that was the special edition with the switch carrying case and I didn’t want to miss out on that. Sometimes you just buy what’s available when it’s available, knowing that one day there will be enough consoles to go around.

I’m starting to think that’s what it actually means to be overhyped. I think this is possibly the first game to be overhyped in the sense of “played out before anyone really gets to play it”. Normally overhyped means that the expectations are higher pre-release than the game can actually achieve, so it doesn’t live up

That it took retailers until last week to start implementing an add to cart capcha is also not helping the bot situation.

Honestly, while it’s definitely not a graphical showcase, from the first two levels I’ve played I’ve still been both impressed and entertained. The game comes installed on the PS5 and introduces you to the hardware in the machine is a fun and enjoyable way. But what it really does is show how even with simple (or

This is exactly me, except for the Killer Instinct part. The only game that makes me want an XBox even now is Sunset Overdrive, because reminds me of JSRF. Beyond that, if I ever do find myself in possession of an XBox (Series S is most likely) I’d probably also grab Forza Horizon, other than that...

I’m really curious what the worldwide numbers are. I remember even Nintendo was forthcoming about sales and production numbers when when the Switch sold out in seconds. Not that I feel entitled to know, just that I have a burning curiosity.

I mean, all of us are making guesses based on what little we know and a whole lot of conjecture. We can definitely assume that development on the sequel started, at least in the writing department, before the last game was released. We can also assume that they are building the sequel on the bones of the last game,

The way I see it, it might be more likely that it was planned as next-gen only but they might want to release it for PS4 due to not being able to keep up with manufacturing PS5 units, and they want to increase their sales of the game. Given the way the console is selling out and people are clamoring for more units to

I mean, yes, these consoles are released without many gen-exclusive titles, and yes waiting to release until next year might have allowed them to make the consoles even more powerful, but I doubt there would be many more gen-exclusive games at launch a year from now. Game publishers aren’t going to invest in launch

It’s not just decent, that’s premium in most of the well-populated parts of the country and unobtainable in more rural parts. Even the western half of Massachusetts only has the option of broadband DSL, no cable to be considered, which means that in the rain you are lucky to have a connection at all. Mass, by the way,

I mean, every time PS puts out an automatically downloaded app I just toss it into my “PS” folder on my dash and watch it slowly move to the back of the line. It’s mildly inconvenient for like, 5 seconds, then it is gone.

For me, I have always loved the idea of the modern storyline. But I have always felt like Ubi has handled it terribly. It could be good, we as players could be compelled to keep coming back to the games to A. find out what happens next, AND B. enjoy the new historical setting. People have suggested getting rid of the

Oh, no, I think I misspoke. Separate but duplicate list is more the vibe I got from the tweet (which was an answer to a question on the original tweet in this article). I admit that I wasn’t paying too close attention, since I don’t have any immediate plans to get the remaster, although now I’m definitely more
