EXACTLY! Any rounds given to Canelo are maybe’s. That’s why I say giving Golovkin all 12 rounds makes as much sense as giving Canelo 6. There were six rounds that could have gone either way. Golovkin flat-out won the other six.

I did re-watch the fight on Sunday. And like I said, I totally agree that 2 was close (as was 1 and 3) and 10-12 were all close too. But again, I just don’t think Canelo wins every close round. Initially, I had Canelo winning 11 and Golvkin winning 3 but switched them on the re-watch. In the end, it was an awesome

To me, a 120-108 card for Golovkin makes the same amount of sense as a 115-113 card for Canelo. I think Golovkin clearly won 6 rounds. I think Canelo clearly won 0. The other 6 could have gone either way. To get a draw you’d have to give every single close round to Canelo. So why would it be so absurd to give every

Canelo got outlanded in all but one round. He got outpunched and outworked. To give him 6 rounds you’d have to literally give him every close round. He didn’t dominate even one round. The first three rounds all could have gone either way but in no way were they clear Canelo rounds. I also don’t see how people just

I agree that just counting punches doesn’t show who won rounds—but it is a place to start. Also, while Golovkin may have not landed a ton of huge shots, either did Canelo. He rarely stopped GGG from coming forward. And as the author pointed out, GGG’s jabs aren’t nothing. While Canelo was able to dictate when and

This was great.

What 5 rounds did you give Canelo? I don’t see how he won 5 rounds. He only outlanded GGG in one round. And GGG outworked him and put the pressure on him all night and LOOKED like he was winning the rounds, regardless of the numbers. I never once though Canelo dominated even one round, while GGG completely dominated

That’s his reply, because that was essentially the argument. He’s taking issue with the use of the word “fighter”.

This is only absurd to YOUR definition of “fighter”. Mayweather can be labeled a fighter as much as any MMA fighter can. Sure there are more restrictions in Boxing, but there are also restrictions in MMA—so a guy who could pull hair, use a knife or sword, or do anything outside the rules of MMA and was well-trained in
