People commenting on this story and reducing it to What Price Did are both missing and confirming the point. If one allegedly mediocre or incompetent woman ‘s firing can create a danger to every other woman’s job in the industry, a reasonable person would think she’s not the real story. 

It’s not that straight-forward. A lot of the social conservatism in Toronto’s suburbs is in Chinese-Canadian communities that are not necessarily particularly religious. “Old” immigrants do not necessarily have any particular sympathy for refugees and asylum seekers.
