If I use something like ESTA and I’m told I’m fine and then find out I’m not, after all the travel expenses, I’d be pretty pissed.

Being a lady, streaming games and wearing a bikini top are all great things. But streaming in a bikini top because your boss wants you to attract the male gaze is... Problematic.
I don’t think there’s an appropriate word for the feeling of annoyance, anger, humor and indignity I’m feeling over this post.
Again not saying racism doesn’t exist. But I do wonder if blacks have told themselves that they are oppressed so much that they begin to believe those thoughts.
FFXIV takes a lot of inspiration from other mediums for its music and quest design, no one seemed to really have a problem with that until now, then again this is propably the first time anyone has mentioned powerman 5000 in 10 years, and it might hurt their sales of 7 mp3s per year.
But no one would ever bother because there are already a million games starring male protagonists.
Sounds like it.
A father did something cool for his daughter and shared it with the internet and certain parts of the internet are calling it ‘PC’ and ‘hypersensitive’. Man people like to overreact.
Sure it was marketed towards young men, but there’s a reason my friend had all the Tomb Raider games when we were growing up. She would have had more games if they had more female protags.
Uses “PC” as an insult? Check. Can’t use the correct “too”? Check. Puts forth an argument that is not just facile but completely incorrect for the actual topic at hand (dude, there is NO gender, so your whole second paragraph is a non sequitur)? Check.
I know a lot of online communities who’d have a total meltdown at this though. Ha.
Yeah, it’s highly unfortunate that him making this hack has completely wiped out all previous copies of the game that weren’t gender neutral, thereby forcing anyone who dislikes this to play his version.
Lara Croft being used as an example of a feminine character is flawed because she has (almost) always been marketed specifically at men. Her gender has (until recently) very little to do with the game play or story of the Tomb Raider series.
Because as a man you had more choices.
As a man, I don’t think most men can relate, and take note of the men that do relate to this situation, are fathers of (surprise) daughters.
You see a lot of guys going “I don’t see the big deal, I play Tomb Raider without an issue,” completely neglecting the fact that the Tomb Raider series up till about 2005 relied…
Really, who cares?
Straight males are so oppressed. :(
The hyper-sensitive people are the ones who look at this and get angry. “A single kid somewhere has a game where the pronouns are changed and that’s it, I’M SUPER FUCKING ANGRY ABOUT IT AND OUTRAGED.”
I don’t play Tomb Raider and think, man why am I a chick,
Reader Tony has a young daughter who, fingers crossed, will soon grow up to play the classics. And when she moves…
