just released a short anime film called Shelter, which he made along with A-1 Pictures. It’s about a girl living alone in a simulation that her father created for her. Shelter’s music is a light, synthy pop and the animation is pure delight.

Bakemonogatari, I think is an acquired taste.

When it first came out and I tried watching it, I had a hard time enjoying it because of all the disorienting changes in the scenery, angles, and points of view.

I do. But I also love Bakemonogatari, which some people say is flawed in that regard. It’s such a hard line to walk—would Senjougahara (or Hanekawa for that matter) be as interesting if she wasn’t this insane ping-ponging between hot and cold? That anime ventures far, and maybe too far, into fan service territory, but
