With Fallout 4, and a handful of other games keeping me busy, I have no problem with this delay. I prefer games to be released when they are truly ready, rather than a premature release full of game-breaking bugs.

Did you find out if they're going to make it easier to invite friends to play with you? Many of the people I play Helldivers with, also experience issues teleporting to one another's ships, even when set to "friends" or "public".
