I didn’t mean to say that he has to do something about it because he’s black. He needs to do something because he is the President, and more than any one person in the US, in a position of power. If he can’t change the racist policies in his own country, who can?

If the fucking President can’t do anything to solve or at least mitigate the institutionalized racism in his own country, then the rest of us can just give up and start to accept that racism will never end.

Don’t be naive, being a little better than his predecessors doesn’t make him good. He still thinks that homosexuality is a sin and that birth control is the work of the devil, and he’s yet to hold all of the child molesters responsible for their actions.

Being better than horrible still isn’t good, and until we hold the Pope accountable for every evil that the Catholic Church is responsible for, we’re not going to get anywhere.

There’s a better chance of Hell freezing over than that happening unfortunately.
