Yeah, Obama “caused racial division” by being Black. All of the screeching, bigoted xenophobes that have crawled out of the gutters were totally reasonable people before he “caused division” and made them virulently racist against their will.
This is THE problem. When you say “Donald Trump has a history of bad business practices” or “Hillary Clinton actually has contributed to charitable institutions” and they say “I don’t believe that”, what do you do? How do you combat that? What source would get them to listen?
Well, if you are white and/or won’t be affected much by what’s happened, you absolutely do have the privilege to be able to safely (and when I say “safely” I mean both physically and emotionally) be friends with people who support racism. I’m simply not in that position.
I sit and think... do I tell them they are protesting after work? I tried to explain WHY PEOPLE PROTEST to my little cousin who is not the sharpest tool in the drawer, and she says “well they should of voted then”.
Of course you would say some shit like that, mekki. No, my friends aren’t carbon copies of me, but I’m a Black woman so I can’t be friends with people who support a racist and his policies, no matter their bullshit reasoning why supporting a racist doesn’t make them actually racist. I’m sorry it hurts the feelings of…
If you think this is just about “political leanings,” you are in denial. I’m a Black woman, so I CAN’T “be friends” with an Orange Man supporter. Those people at worst are straight-up racist, and at best, don’t give a fuck either way but are cool with it to get some other thing they want out of the situation. Their…
Look, I’m not going to say you should kick his misogynistic ass to the curb, but you should totally kick his misogynistic ass to the curb.
I heard one person say, “there’s just so much more racial division with Obama than ever before.” Which from that line of reasoning, not only did Obama cause racial division, but, now that Trump is in charge, all those unhappy black and brown people are going to “go back” to enjoying life and getting along with…
This hurts my brain.
*hug*
I think there will be quite a few people...excusing... themselves from the holiday celebrations back home this year. I’ve already canceled Thanksgiving, that’s the only one I was planning for now.
This is honestly THE BEST news of this past awful, horrible week. Because this hits him where it matters most: His ego. He has bragged so many times about how his name is on so many buildings in New York. Well, guess what, Donnie: New Yorkers have spoken, and you can shove that cheap, lying, tacky name of yours…
We need to TELL THE STORY and not allow these people to create fiction in ‘history books’ to whitewash what this man and his minions have done and will do. Our American history is littered with whitewashed falsehoods about ‘great men’ that deify genocidal maniacs (like Christopher Columbus), slave owner/rapists, and…
You make an excellent point because I’m most angry at other people, my neighbors (known and unknown) friends and family. So I can foresee that easing into disappointment and maybe the more freeform anger coalescing into alertness and action.
I don’t know where to go; like where to turn to. I want to not to be angry; I’d like to have something to look forward to but I can’t see it. I just can’t right now and I’m really frustrated with myself for not being able to.
I’d be happy with them being broke and living in a really bad neighborhood where they have to live with all the people they spent their whole careers dissing. I’d rather they have to beg for help from the very people they once reviled.
I move we rename it Mary Kay Place.
If only America could remove him so easily.
“What we saw was that the American people didn’t care about those things,” Corey Lewandowski said during CNN’s early…
