Planes have to land there too. You do not want a concrete barrier in the way if one comes in a little low.

I have an 88 T-bird with a digital speedo that used to stop counting and start blinking at 85, but then I took the cluster apart and jumped 2 empty pads together on the circuit board, and now I’ve seen it read as high as 135, though in theory, it could read 199.

My first car was an 87 T-bird with a transplanted 5.0HO from a wrecked Lincoln Mark VII LSC. Mine also had the digital speedo, with digital bar graphs for the tach, fuel, coolant temp, etc. The speedo would stop at 85 MPH, but if I was really hauling ass I would switch over to KPH, where it wouldn’t stop until 199

My 1989 Probe had the green digital dash, and it would blink 85 once you crested that number.

“The notion that people who buy used cars are financial worse off than those who buy new ones is probably fair enough, but to say that used car buyers will maintain their cars significantly worse than those who bought the 20-year-old car new is also just an assumption, and is highly dependent upon the individuals.”

Nah, that would apply to lots of stuff.

I just don’t get these. They are raised off the ground so you ruin the handling, but not far enough so you can take it off road. They also don’t have much useable space like the wagon based crossovers. They seem like a way to make a vehicle that isn’t good at anything and people want that?

Great point, I practically just wrote a verse.

I’m actually annoyed at this... I liked how Uber had no tipping feature, so tips weren’t expected. That was my favorite feature of Uber versus every other rideshare app.

Take a bow for this one Kristen! Love the “psychological profile” you wrote for Jeep Bro. Most of the time I find these ads to be silly but you did a great job of nailing the personality of it.

He’s an idiot. Later today he’ll be reminded that BMW has a plant in Spartanburg SC that employees 8800. And that plant in SC is BMW largest.

I agree, this imbalance needs to stop. We need cars designed and built in America, like the Ford Focus, Buick Cascada or the Chevrolet SS.

Yeah, Palmeiro won the GG in ‘99 when he played 28 games at 1B and 128 as a DH. He had won the GG at 1B in both ‘97 and ‘98 (and played those years entirely in the field) and when ‘99 rolled around the voters didn’t bother checking to see if his position had changed and just gave it to him again.

My Mini Cooper S used to get me mugged all the time.

It sounds like this actually caters to business jet travelers, not commercial passengers, but the language is confusing. For example, you cant drive a passenger straight to the plane on the tarmac they have to cross the jetway just like everyone else (except for certain commuter flights...and all private jets). And

Airports are not really a social equalizer. Air travel is FAR out of the reach of a good portion of Americans. They are, I guess, a place where you can be exposed to anyone from the lower and upper extremes of the middle class.

I’ve gotten out of around 11 tickets. Here’s what I’ve done every single time:
