I lived in South Bend for 7 years. After every home football game at Notre Dame, there was a guy who would literally fill his old rusty station wagon (early 80s Caprice maybe?) with discarded cans. Yep, the B7s hung the engine way out ahead of the front wheels. I think you would enjoy how much better the B8 is. They moved the engine rearward to improve the balance, downsized to a V6 so the engine is lighter, and added the trick differential.

Which generation of the S4 have you driven? I came from an E46 M3 into a B8 S4 and have been pretty happy with its handling. I had a B7 A4 before the M3, though, and it was extremely nose heavy and understeering.

same here, I chose S4 over S3 for the space. A few inches makes a big difference to rear seat passengers, and the trunk is much larger as well.

I thought about it this way: What truck can you get for $13,200? This truck is way, way cooler than whatever other truck you can find for $13,200. So I say Nice Price.
