I would agree with this. Ironically, I quit playing FFXIV years ago after some shitty experiences with players, but they really were outliers. I had way more positive interactions with people in that game than any other.

I mean, when it gets to the point that hundreds of people report basically identical issues, I think it’s moved past “anecdotal.” I can understand why Nintendo is reluctant to officially confirm that their hardware is flawed in such a way, especially with no simple fix.

There are a few games that exclusively use the d-pad, but yes, for the most part it’s every game. I’ve been able to decrease the frequency of drifting by playing games that mostly use the D-pad, but it still happens occasionally, even though the thumbsticks don’t get touched :/

Holy shit I had no idea this problem was so widespread. When it started happening to me a few months ago, I just thought I was being a dumbass with my controller usage/storage (even though I am always careful and gentle with them). Goddamn do I feel validated right now.
