This has yet to happen in the digital age of consoles thus far, nothing but a conspiracy theory. It could happen, but it hasn’t, and wont for many years. And if that day does come, the update servers will be off as well and your physical game will not be able to get those day 1 updates that they so dearly required.

As I stated earlier PSN currently has Arkham Knight along with the season pass for $49.49, you cannot buy this anywhere for that price physically you cannot even buy the season pass physically. Any you certainly cannot get Arkham Knight anywhere for $20 to make it $49.99

PSN, XBL, Steam, and every other digital store front doesn’t do this with digital games either. I can still play any PS3 title digitally that I’ve bought in 10 years since it release. You’re simply tin hatting digital titles but what you say is a reality doesn't actually happen.

This is not true at all, you can currently buy the digital gold copy of Batman Arkham Knight on PSN for $49.49 you cannot currently buy the game and the season pass for this price physically at any retail location, and this has been the case for a lot of games on PSN and XBL.
