There was like four great scenes of two people talking in a row! In addition to that one, Costa Ronin was incredible explaining to Stan why he was there, probably the best scene Kerri Russell and Holly Taylor have done together, and the gradual realization by Philip that he was already being watched while the priest

If his message from Phil and Elizabeth gets back to the Kremlin, Gorbachev will have good reason to trade for him.

Yeah, to paraphrase Jaws, after that Father Andrei meeting, I got no spit.

Paige goes to Russia gives birth to a girl name Osksana who later changes her name to Villanne.

Pretty subtle, but yeah, I read that as him basically wanting to protect Paige.

Pretty sure that once Elizabeth said no, they had essentially no choices in that short of a timespan. There probably aren’t that many illegals left I’d think, after Robert, William, and Harvest are all gone.

But did he really keep his mouth shut? I read that call with him saying Paige was part of the church but Philip and Elizabeth weren’t as sort of a code.

I thought Pastor Tim was maybe dead....ha!

Margo Matindale is sooooo fucking good it’s unfair. She lets a low key menace rise to almost the surface while never quite breaking through the Claudia facade. I was certain that scene was going to end in bloodshed. And, then she just goes back to eating soup. It’s such “Fuck you, Elizabeth Jennings. You made your

This is actually why I think the flashback story was incredibly important for the episode, the story of the Waterfords using “free speech” to push their agenda into the mainstream, the silencing of Ofglen, and Ofglen’s use of violent speech all weave together to tell a more complete story and a less disjointed read

I”m not convinced Nick knows much about what MayDay is doing, especially not after the botched escape.

I was very concerned that people would have that reaction. The whole episode, I had to keep reminding myself, Serena has done nothing to earn my sympathy. she is the same evil person who helped build this world. Just because she can’t have children, just because she’s unhappy, doesn’t make her worthy of sympathy. She

The similarity between the flashbacks on the show and seeing these fanatics bring about Gilead and reality of the right is so jarring and so so uncomfortable.

Yeah, that was something.

Ofglen seemed to have gotten the last word, even with out a tongue.

The thing I found most jarring (and sadly most relevant) in this episode was the flashback to Serena’s attempted speech at the university. Here they are under the protection of free speech, and whining about Serena has a ‘right to speak’ because ‘this is America!’...and their proposed initiatives involve stripping

I loved that Ofglen2 was the one who did it. I mean, she LIKED being a handmaid! She was down with the program, all “Eh, I’ve had worse jobs.” Yet even that wasn’t enough for Gilead. And it cost them.

I liked the ending, and I’m very interested to see where the show is headed now. I wonder if we’ll get some more Ofglen backstory next episode. I know we already know some of it, but I would at least like to know how she got involved with (presumably) May Day.
