It’s Mich McConnell’s fault for illegally refusing to hold confirmation hearings for Merrick Garland.

I’d love to see the ACLU jump right in the middle of this.
The ACLU has filed a FOIA as to the tax returns in order to check it against the Emoluments Clause in the Constitution. They are doing amazing work, right now, and sending them a donation is high on my list, today. It’s a selfish thing. Someone out there is protecting my rights.
This is ludicrous.. It’s also financial incentive to arrest more people during a protest, and/or to use more expensive and unnecessary means in response. In addition to, you know, violating constitutional rights and effectively threatening people against protesting.
A similar bill is going up in Indiana and other states.
Anyone who says this isn’t straight up fascism, is a straight up fascist themselves. Our right to peacefully assemble, which means anything short of actually smashing shit up, is guaranteed by our 1st amendment constitutional rights. Don’t think for a second that this law will not be used by a federal agency at some…
You’re right. Detaining people without them knowing what is going on for a long time is psychologically manipulative. I live in a part of Europe where it is legal to detain people for up to 2 years without charge. My husband’s cousin was held for 2 years that way. He never committed a crime-he just associated with the…
“If you violate the law, if you block traffic, if you block access to a building, and if you are a black/brown person, that’s what this bill is for.”
I’m all for rich Trump supporters to throw around money while desperately telling everyone they meet that they’re not racist. I get the impulse, and the $450 is crazy generous. But saying the equivalent of, “Oh, you’re one of the good ones. Here’s some money.” still seems off putting.
You’re such a gibbering idiot that you should be Trump’s pick to run the Department of Education if the other gibbering idiot is rejected.
But the flipping painfully obvious lesson that has been learned from working with the Republican Party these past 8 years, not to mention this new administration, is that there is NO SUCH THING AS SAVING YOUR BATTLES. There is NO compromise. There is no political capital that you save up and “spend” on more important…
This is literally what needs to happen. We need real progressives in office, not people who just give lip service and then become useless when it is time to actually take a stand.
I cannot abide.
I’m sorry, Ellie, I know this is the worst part of 2017 so far for you.
THIS. What Spicer is doing here is not remotely funny.
The media is falling for it too. On another note, California is planning a “Calexit” which will apparently be a referendum on the ballot in a couple years and it’s gaining a lot of traction with people. I looked in to it and the main guy organizing it lives in Russia with his Russian wife. We’re in a sinking ship.
It erodes our faith in our democratic institutions. We may survive a trump presidency but the US won’t be able to survive a complete loss of faith in things like our elections and our press for example. It will breed widespread corruption and authoritarianism as people will think trump is the one true gatekeeper of…

He’s doing his job just fine, considering the man he’s tasked with representing. He shed his integrity the moment he got up there and yelled about crowd sizes.
How long until Spicer is fired? He’s not selling this garbage very well. Is Baghdad Bob available?
