For anyone who hasn’t yet seen it - Weiner was a fascinating documentary. The scenes with his wife were particularly delicious in an awful cringeworthy way. The man is truly delusional.

Me too! And I’m 29. I’ve noticed memory issues happen when I mix drinks so I usually stick to one the whole night now.

Isn’t that kind of the point of stand up? They play a overemphasised version of themselves and talk about their family and friends in their bits. I saw her on Stern once and she said everyone thinks she’s a drunk slut because of her stand up but that she had only had a single one night stand in her life.

Well I think everyone saw that coming... They met on some dating app meant for famous people (how is a furniture designer famous exactly?) and I don’t know but the kind always reeked of a fame whore. His photos were all tagged “my BEAUTIFUL AMAZING girlfriend!”. Just felt really forced.

That’s why I can’t hate Reese Witherspoon despite the whole drunken “do you know who I am” spiel. I mean her husband can fuck right off for driving under the influence, but she does really try to get great women-led roles to the screen.

I thought the suggestion was that this job will pay for her summer in Europe.

I feel you, but some people just don’t dance. My uncle refused to dance at his own wedding! Almost like he has a fear of dancing/embarrassing himself. Lovely guy though.

You’re totally right. He tried to emotionally blackmail me too by saying he would cancel Thailand if I moved in with him. He said he wouldn’t be acting crazy if we lived together and he felt secure in our relationship. That was pretty much my final wake-up call. I agree that someone totally happy wouldn’t have put up…

Thank you so much! I’ve felt a lot better since I ended it and in the end this Thailand trip gave us both a break - him a holiday in the not-so-sun (torrential rain apparently, another friend happens to be in Phuket too right now) and me a good head start in changing my life for the better. :)
