Why not put the light on the bottom of the bottle? You can remove it without having to get at the bugs. And you could put some fluid in the base for extra lethality.
Couldn't you also just put the light below the bottle and add a cardboard sleeve to make sure the light still goes up through the bottle. That way you don't have to open the bottle to get the light back. Seems like it would be easier to deal with that way.
