I’m currently in my fourth Passat (and 2d Chattanooga Passat).  When I found a new ‘18 VR6 new a couple of summers ago I traded in my turbo 2l car which was always in the wrong gear and had to shift and then wait to go.  They really need to keep a 6 in the lineup.  With that VR6 it is a sweet stable package at half

My 2018 Passat has real dials with pointers.  White numbers on black.  Every time I get into a newer car, the screen just puts me off.   That is the main reason that the Passat may stay for 15-20 years.

I’d hit that.

Welcome to the new BMW Passat.

I’ve been reading all these snarky comments about VW in this column. I’m on my seventh VW in a row and I’ve really enjoyed them all. Never had a problem with any of them. Wish I’d kept the ‘13 Passat TDI I sold back to them.  Love my current ‘18 Passat VR6.  What’s wrong with you folks?

Watching this impending Death Spiral of wrong decisions is actually getting a little funny...

Britain lost control of a large portion of the surface of the world using that exact type of system....

That is a truly awful interior.  Not in my garage, not ever.

My family flew from ATL to SLC on December 22. We fly from ATL about four times a year, and it’s usually a hassle. On Dec. 22 it went quickly. I mentioned to a supervisor at the desk how professional and efficient it was that day, and he laughed and said, “We’re not getting paid, so it’s going real smooth......”.

On one line: “killing at least 1,300 people”...

Ah, the famous coal-powered cars.

“It’s nearly impossible to understate the devastation...”

Has anybody else thought that the styling of the 80s-current Mercedes just doesn’t age well after a new generation has been around a while?  There are some really goofy looking, oddly-proportioned old Mercedes cars from recent eras.  And all those years we were thinking that they were the pinnacle of everything.

I know, right?  But deadline.

I refer you to the first paragraph of your piece.

Are y’all the same folks that never said anything about how the Clintons were running things like a crime family? Oh, nevermind.

In a hundred years, when nobody is playing football because nobody wants their life ruined, people will look back at the NCAA/NFL football industry of today and wonder, “What were they thinking?”

I have bought from the same out-of-town dealer four times now because I never have to worry about crap like that. The first time that happens in any kind of business dealing, I’m gone. If all consumers did that we’d be in an easier world to live in.

“You’re wrong. ‘You’re.’ “

why would anyone want to wash down there anyway?
