I love that "pumpkin head of death". It is too. The helo can sit behind cover with the "pumpkin" seeing over and allowing ID and tracking of targets on the other side. That was the idea.
...and a huge deterrent I reckon.
Behind the MANPAD for want of a better word are quad 14.5mm heavy machine guns, still used along side the larger caliber 23mm autocannon (which can itself be found in double and quad mounts such as on the Soviet-era ZSU-23-4 Shilka).
