Bungie's stories have always been full of plot-holes, why is this surprising you at all? People love them because their games are FUN. Lighten up a little and you might find you have some fun with the game too.

That Turn 1 Beast play could've been survivable.
Humility, Pyro+Equality, Aldor Peacekeeper, Equality+Consecration etc. etc.
There are so many low mana cost control cards in the Pally deck.
