The writing (and the new series is being written by the same people) is probably some of smartest for a TV series ever. Billy Wilder level intelligence and complexity. You can watch episodes even 4 or 5 times and still find new discoveries in the dialogue.

I’d say yes, it’s a lovely, well-written show that is powered by heart... which, I really can’t give you a present-day example of the same. It’s completely rooted in character, and hilarious, and sweet, and sad vs. ironic back-and-forth banter coming out of millennial stereotypes.

I, also in my mid-thirties, was a fan all along. But I have three different girlfriends, all my age, who recently binge watched the whole thing and loved it. And I’d like to think I keep intelligent company.

It’s going to be so amazing. I cannot—CANNOT!—wait. I’m going to go full out: sweaters, coffee, fuzzy blankets. It’s gonna be cozy AF at Marillenbaumhaus.

I am like you, in that I completely avoided it when it was on TV because a few people I knew who loved it, also happened to love shitty music/tv/movies. BUT!!! I recently started the series from the beginning and I’m hooked. Give it another chance! (oh and I’m also in my mid-thirties)

jess kinda matured nicely at the end. i wouldn’t be too mad about it.

JESS OR GTFO
