It's probably already been said somewhere before but to me the Warchowski duo just aren't smart enough to be great directors. I love their imagination and their thoughts on non-linear mass-appeal movie making but the just somehow strike me as wishing they were the genius intellects they purport to be. I mean even the

I'd never made the connection that Freddie Jones was his father. I loved Freddie's work. He was one of the most unique character actors and it looks like the fruit hasn't fallen too far from the tree.

One last thing; Saul said he came straight from the airport to Carrie's home but the last Saul knew she was staying at her sisters. How did he know she gone back home?

I'm not going to read every comment but just add a couple of my obs; firstly this episode came across as pretty dumbly scripted. Carrie's meltdown was easily the best part of a pretty schizo episode.

Yup! Not typecast eh?

The City Watch used to have some respect during Ned's reign but looks like all that just got bollixed thanks to Cersei using them as nothing more than hired muscle. Sad.

Banish the peasants and then perform public baby executions. Way to get the populous on your side. Jeez haven't these people played Civilisation or Sim City?

I think Michael Mann is one of the few directors, like Scorcese, who can add an extra dimension to their work by their inspired choice of music. Mann is especially good at pushing the emotion dial up to 11 with music. Maserati's Pyramid of The Moon used over one of the races made something great into something amazing!

Sorry, this thought just occurred to me; if horses die every day in actual races how come the televising of races hasn't been banned. How can you differentiate between a fictional drama that uses horses as part of the story and real race on TV where horses die on a regular basis for the entertainment of gamblers?

Just as an additional point, this show has without doubt had some of the best music cues ever. Maserati, RL Burnside, Etta James, Massive Attack (several tracks), Gil-Scott Heron, Rhys Chatam's 200 guitar symphony, Oneida etc, etc, etc. Some amazingly bold choices.

Just as an acerbic observation; at the recent The Cheltenham Festival (a very big racing week here in the UK) no less than 5 horses were euthanised due to injuries! That's an average number.

James Bond in Goldeneye used an almost identical ashtray. I remember thinking that was the first true display of Bond viciousness I'd seen for a while!

Random observations…
Michael Gambon is colossal as Mike. He seems to be channelling the terrible Albert Spica from The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. His turn of phrase is just a pleasure to listen to.Loved Hoffman talking to his Parole Officer, rapping about seeing Miles Davis in 1958 and how he was asked if
