For me it’s still a toss up. Paris? My son? eh, they’re about even.

This was a good review of that piece and her book. I think you captured it accurately: tone-deaf, but still a worthwhile concept to explore. I didn’t understand why the Internet of Moms got so bent out of joint about it.
Yes, we are in agreement. I believe every American deserves health care, equal opportunity and the basic physical securities of life.
I mean in this case, we’re talking about a guy from El Salvador who left the country and came to the US, worked until he started his own contractor business, worked hard to earn his citizenship and is now successful. I don’t think the “upper middle class entitlement” is applicable here. He did work hard, and he does…
Dragonfly was an OK read but definitely not as good as the first or Voyager. Hang in there - it gets awesome soon.
I can understand why it brings up a lot of complicated feelings.
My contractor is from El Salvador and he is very anti-universal health coverage. I asked him why and he told me that those who are lazy and don’t work shouldn’t get healthcare.
Right, anyone can technically use a non-certified label of “organic”.
So maybe someone knows more than I do on this - but I thought to be classified as Organic by USDA, you had to meet a percentage of organic ingredients. That means that all organic products can have a percentage of inorganic stuff. Plus I think for processed foods (which I’d imagine formula is classified as such) have…
What a great partnership you guys have. That’s awesome. My husband’s an introvert, so I’m usually the one going out. But I’m a morning person so we help each other out.
We went to a cocktail birthday party and left around 10:30PM. One of our friends was like, “Oh are you guys leaving already because you miss your little guy so much?”

Loved, loved, loved that first cup of coffee on my first day of work back at the office.
Just overheard in my office, “Did you see this stuff about changing Andrew Jackson to Harriet Tubman? What a bunch of politically correct nonsense.”

If you have kids, go into it knowing your past history. There’s a lot of safe antidepressants that your OB may or may not recommend. If you’re aware that prenatal and postpartum depression exist and can manifest in very strange ways, I think it helps.
I’ve been through pregnancy and childbirth. It was horrific - I had prenatal depression and postpartum depression. Whenever I see a pregnant woman, I get flashbacks of that horrible time being pregnant.
Very interesting! Wasn’t aware that it fell under federal jurisdiction. Thanks for sharing.
Therein lies the joke!
